During Lent and Holy Week we are invited to read some very difficult texts. There is probably no other text in Scripture more difficult to preach than Gen 22. This retreat will draw upon our own experiences—or non-experience, as they case may be—art, literature, theology, humor (!), and sermons by one of finest contemporary Episcopal preachers to challenge our assumptions, expand our experience of this difficult text, and provide resources for preaching, teaching, and examining God’s call on our own lives.
